On February 18 local time, the Bureau of the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People issued a statement strongly condemning Israel's decision to resume land registration procedures in the occupied West Bank and its implementation of numerous other illegal policies and practices in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem. These illegal measures could further deprive Palestinian landowners of their rights and exacerbate Israel's illegal control over the occupied territories. The statement pointed out that Israel's recent actions in the West Bank have seriously escalated, violating international law and relevant UN resolutions. The so-called "administrative measures" cannot conceal the de facto annexation of the occupied Palestinian territories and must be condemned.
