Federal Reserve Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman said on Wednesday that a revised bank capital proposal related to Basel III is expected to be released before the end of the first quarter. The U.S. regulator plans to release the proposal later this year and solicit public comments. She emphasized that the industry and the public will be given “ample time” to review the proposal. Earlier this week, Bowman also stated that U.S. lenders are expected to face new mortgage requirements under the proposal.
