Data released on Thursday showed that Australia's employment grew steadily in January, with businesses hiring more full-time employees, while the unemployment rate remained at a multi-month low, further confirming the resilience of the labor market. Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed a net increase of 17,800 jobs in January (revised to a significant increase of 68,500 in December), in line with market expectations of a 20,000 increase, of which full-time jobs saw a robust increase of 50,500. The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.1%, while analysts had previously expected it to rise to 4.2%. The labor force participation rate remained stable at 66.7%, and working hours saw a healthy increase of 0.6%.
