Indonesia and the United States signed trade and investment agreements worth over $7 billion on Wednesday. The agreements were reached at a dinner hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on the eve of the formal meeting between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and U.S. President Donald Trump. According to information released by the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council, the agreements cover multiple sectors. In agricultural products, Indonesian companies will purchase 1 million tons of U.S. soybeans, 1.6 million tons of corn, 93,000 tons of cotton, and 1 million tons of wheat this year, with plans to purchase a cumulative total of 5 million tons by 2030. The U.S.-ASEAN Business Council valued soybeans, wheat, and cotton at $685 million, $1.25 billion, and $122 million respectively. The agreements also include $200 million for the recycling of used clothing in the United States.
