[International Atomic Energy Agency: US-Iran Talks Made Progress but "Time Is Running Out"] International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi stated that the talks between the United States and Iran in Geneva, Switzerland, "took a step forward," but warned that "time is running out." According to an AFP report on February 18, Grossi said in an interview with a French news channel, "We have made progress, but there is still work to be done, and the problem is that time is running out." Grossi said, "For the first time, there is a real possibility of starting a dialogue; we have begun to discuss specific issues and what we need to do." He indicated that both sides appear to "be willing to reach an agreement, but negotiations on such an agreement are extremely complex." The second round of indirect talks between the US and Iran was held in Geneva on February 17. Officials from both sides stated after the talks that although differences remain, progress had been made compared to the previous round, and both sides agreed to continue contact. (Xinhua)
