[EU Council Officially Adds Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to "Terrorist Organization" List] On January 19, local time, the European Council issued a statement announcing that following a political agreement reached by the Foreign Affairs Committee on January 29, the Council officially decided to add Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to the list of "terrorist organizations." It is understood that after being added to the "terrorist organization" list, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps will be subject to restrictive measures under the EU's anti-terrorism sanctions mechanism. These measures include freezing its funds and other financial assets or economic resources in EU member states, and prohibiting EU institutions from providing funds and economic resources to the organization. Currently, 13 individuals and 23 groups and entities are subject to these restrictions.
