Data released by the U.S. Treasury Department on Wednesday showed that net foreign purchases of U.S. stocks more than doubled last year, climbing to $720.1 billion, a 134% increase from $307.5 billion in 2024, marking the highest growth rate in at least a decade. Owen Lamont, senior vice president and portfolio manager at Acadian Asset Management LLC, said, "At least in terms of stocks, the so-called 'de-Americanization' is an exaggeration."
