[US and Indonesia Reach Trade Agreement, Imposing 19% Tariff on Indonesia] On February 19th local time, the White House announced that the Trump administration had formally finalized a reciprocal trade agreement with Indonesia, aimed at expanding market access for US goods in areas such as manufacturing, agriculture, and the digital economy. US President Trump and Indonesian President Prabowo Subiyanto signed documents that day, confirming that both sides would proceed with the implementation of the relevant arrangements. According to the White House, Indonesia will eliminate tariff barriers on more than 99% of US exports. The two sides also confirmed approximately $33 billion in business cooperation arrangements, including approximately $15 billion in US energy purchases, approximately $13.5 billion in aviation and related product purchases, and more than $4.5 billion in US agricultural product purchases. Under the agreement, the US will maintain a reciprocal tariff rate of 19% on Indonesian goods, but certain specific products will be subject to zero tariffs. Data shows that the US trade deficit with Indonesia is projected to reach $23.7 billion in 2025. The White House stated that the agreement will officially take effect in the coming weeks after both sides complete their respective domestic procedures. (CCTV News)
