[US Intercepts Multiple Russian Military Aircraft Near Alaska] The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) issued a statement on the 19th, saying that it detected multiple Russian military aircraft operating in the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) that day, and subsequently scrambled fighter jets to intercept them. The statement said that the Russian military aircraft that entered the area that day included two Tu-95 strategic bombers, two Su-35 fighter jets, and one A-50 early warning aircraft.
