The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor stated that the RBI has revised its real GDP growth forecasts for the first and second quarters of fiscal year 2026-2027 upwards by 20 basis points each. While awaiting a new series of economic data, the RBI is assessing the macroeconomic and financial environment and believes the current policy rate is appropriate. Overall inflation is projected at 2.1% for fiscal year 2025-2026, and the revised inflation forecasts for the first and second quarters of fiscal year 2026-2027 are also close to the inflation target.
