European luxury goods and alcohol stocks surge after Supreme Court ruling on tariffs. The European luxury goods and alcohol sector rose sharply after the US Supreme Court ruled that Trump's global tariffs were illegal. With large US operations and most production bases in Europe, luxury goods companies are among the sectors most directly impacted by Trump's tariffs. Following the ruling, the European luxury goods stock index jumped 1.3%, with industry leader LVMH Group's share price surging 1.3%. Pernod Ricard, Hermès, and Moncler also saw gains. Diageo, the beer and spirits producer, saw its share price rise by over 1%.
