Trade experts say it may take U.S. Customs and Border Protection days or weeks to formally notify importers that the tariffs are no longer valid, and it may take months for lower courts to establish refund procedures. Some trade experts hope that U.S. Customs and Border Protection can automate part or all of the claims process to reduce its administrative burden.
