This morning, Baird analyst Ben Carlow upgraded Tesla's stock rating to "outperform" with a target price of $548. Carlow believes that a series of "less-than-stellar quarters" have not shaken Tesla's stock price, indicating that investors' "focus has increasingly shifted to Tesla's future, with the recently proposed compensation package based on ambitious goals for product launches and market capitalization." If Tesla achieves these goals, Elon Musk may well deserve every penny of his trillion-dollar compensation package. Tesla's stock price rose about 1.7% in early trading.
