Amazon: Media reports claiming the second incident affected Amazon Web Services (AWS) are “completely false.” The December outage did not affect compute, storage, databases, artificial intelligence technologies, or the hundreds of other services we operate. The issue stemmed from a role misconfiguration, a common problem that can occur with any development tool (whether AI-driven or not) or manual operation. The December outage was a very limited event affecting only one service. We have not received any customer inquiries regarding the December service disruption.
