[Report Shows Tariffs Severely Impact Mid-Sized US Businesses] A report released by JPMorgan Chase Research Institute on February 19th stated that mid-sized US businesses have been severely impacted by tariffs, with their monthly tariff expenses tripling since the beginning of 2025. The report's conclusion, citing the latest research this year, indicates that US businesses and consumers bear 96% of the tariff costs. Another study also shows that as of October last year, 43% of the tariff costs had been passed on to consumer prices, meaning that most of the costs are borne by businesses. In the long run, this situation is unsustainable. A recent study released by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York also shows that approximately 90% of the additional costs incurred by the US government's tariffs in 2025 will be borne by US consumers and businesses, rather than by foreign exporters as the US government has repeatedly claimed, generating huge revenue for the US.
