On February 21, Zhipu issued an apology letter regarding its GLM Coding Plan and announced its handling and compensation plan. The company stated that the main mistakes in this redesign were insufficient transparency in the rules, a slow rollout of GLM-5, and a poorly designed upgrade mechanism for existing users. It also explained that traffic after the GLM-5 release exceeded expectations, and the company's expansion pace could not keep up. Therefore, it was forced to gradually open GLM-5 in the order of Max, Pro, and Lite. Currently, Max users are fully enabled, while Pro users are enabled but may experience rate limiting during peak periods due to high cluster load. Lite users will be gradually enabled during the off-peak period after the holiday. For affected Lite and Pro users, the company supports self-refund applications.
