[Analysis: Dollar May Rise Due to High Yield Status] Daria Parkhomenko, a foreign exchange strategist at RBC Capital Markets, noted in a report that the dollar is poised to rise but will remain within its trading range for this year. "If the dollar maintains a relatively high yield among G10 currencies, funds continue to flow into US assets, and the dollar remains a safe-haven asset (even if its fundamentals are not entirely solid), then there is no clear reason to sell in the coming months." She also mentioned that because the US is a net oil exporter, the dollar is less affected by energy price shocks compared to Europe and Asia. RBC recommends buying the dollar against low-yielding currencies such as the euro and Swiss franc in the short term.
