Meta Platforms is restarting its dollar bond issuance plan, aiming to raise at least $20 billion in the US and European markets as part of its financing strategy. This comes as tech giants face investor skepticism regarding spending on AI infrastructure. According to a source familiar with the matter, the bond issuance is divided into five tranches with maturities ranging from 5 to 30 years. The source added that the initial pricing guidance for the longest-term bond is approximately 2.5 percentage points higher than the yield on US Treasury bonds. Meta last entered the high-grade bond market in April of this year, raising $25 billion through a bond issuance amid peak investor demand of $96 billion. However, market enthusiasm for AI-related bonds has since waned, with investors demanding larger yield premiums to compensate for the risks involved. This bond issuance is underwritten by Citigroup and Morgan Stanley.
